A Week in Perspective (10/05/20) | Are "Investment-Grade" Bonds Getting Worse?
Out of the entire investment-grade universe, the concentration of Baa3 rated bonds, the lowest Moody’s rating a bond can have without being regarded as “junk”, has been steadily rising, and now encompass nearly 12% of all “investment-grade”. In addition, 50% of all outstanding investment grade bonds are rated lower medium grade (Baa1, Baa2, and Baa3).
